Enginuity is an innovative, creative, and holistic approach to Engineering. The engineering industry is heavily founded on processes and systems geared towards direct problem-solving. Enginuity does this in a creative and consultative manner to address the long-term needs of clients and end-users, to also foster better relationships in the long run.
Our Founder & President, Ben Garvey, started Enginuity in his basement over 20 years ago with only one contract. To date, we employ 45+ experts and are quickly growing due to an exceptionally high demand for our services and unique approach. We work with dozens of corporations, inventors, and strategic partners to design, prototype, and manufacture world-class products and processes.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Your role as Mechanical Technologist will provide excellence in delivering solutions to technical challenges brought by clients and internal projects. The position is responsible to develop industry leading, market-ready technology solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Understand and participate in the engineering design process to support new product design activities, and service support engineering.
• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new and existing products.
• Evaluating design concepts; develop testing procedures and verify suitability of design outputs to relevant standards.
• Perform detailed documentation to certify designs and track project development.
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
• Technical research, investigation, and data mining.
• 2D and 3D drawing, modeling, drafting, drawing checking and changes.
• Mechanical design, development, calculations, design support and documentation where directed.
• Prototype assembly, testing, tuning and general work shop assistance.
• Process review, report analysis, research summaries, documentation management and development.
• Assistance and support where requested in all aspects of a small consulting engineering operation.
• Maintain and support a positive environment for learning and growth within the team.
THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
• Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma
• 4+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of fabrication and design fundamentals
• Advanced computer aided design skill
• Experience with CAD software (Inventor and/or SolidWorks considered an asset)

WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING:
Our office is located in the heart of Spryfield, but more specifically, at 264 Herring Cove Road in Suite #100. If you know the Spryfield area – we are right across the street from Sobeys, close to the ever-increasing options for interesting lunches, and right next to beautiful lakes, forests, and trails.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
To the public, we answer questions and attend meetings between 9am -5pm. Our corporate culture values work/life balance and are proud to offer staff the ability to alter their start and end times of their workday. We recognize that not all individuals work most productively during a 9am-5pm schedule, therefore, we are happy to accommodate to your most productive working hours. As long as you complete your 8 hours of work and attend scheduled meetings – we support your altered workday! We also have several remote desk options within the Innovation Ecosystem (Dalhousie ideaHUB, C.O.V.E., ThePIER, Ignite Labs).
