Welcome back to Rough Seas- The Marine Engineering Podcast. Today we have a very special guest, 22 Wing Commander Colonel Joel Oldford.

Leadership, by definition, makes one the ultimate bearer of responsibility. So how does a small-town boy from Cape Breton find himself responsible for identifying and tracking all airborne threats approaching Canada?

In today’s episode we follow Col. Oldford’s journey from the blackfly laden woods of New Brunswick to the NORAD command centre at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, and now most recently, his current post as Commander of 22 Wing.

Oldford details his extensive roles within NORAD, his transparent leadership approach, and how international defence partnerships endure regardless of shifting political climates.
