Frequently Asked Questions

What types of defense systems do you support?

We work across land, naval, and air domains. Our engineers deliver solutions ranging from armored vehicle electronics and naval propulsion to avionics, UAVs, and battlefield management systems.

Do you provide simulation and testing services?

Yes. We employ simulation methods such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and digital twins. These tools allow us to validate performance, predict stress and fatigue, and test mission scenarios in virtual environments before deployment.

We also work closely with a network of local testing facilities in Nova Scotia and beyond, enabling us to validate upgrades under real-world defense conditions.

Can you handle upgrades of legacy defense equipment?
Absolutely. We specialize in obsolescence management, reverse engineering, and retrofits. This helps extend the service life of legacy platforms while ensuring compliance with modern standards.
Do you only work with large defense primes?
No. We partner with primes, SMEs, and government agencies. Whether it’s a subsystem design or a complete platform upgrade, we tailor our approach to the scale and requirements of each client.
Can you design systems to meet specific certifications and standards?

Yes. We design aerospace systems that comply with a wide range of industry, regulatory, and military standards to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance. Our expertise includes:

Structural & Mechanical Standards

  • ISO, ASME, and API – Offshore and Marine Structures
  • ASME B31.3 – Process Piping
  • API 2A-WSD – Offshore Platform Design

Military & Defense Standards (MIL-SPECs)

  • MIL-STD-810 – Environmental Engineering Considerations for Military Equipment
  • MIL-STD-882 – System Safety
  • MIL-STD-461 – Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Control
  • MIL-STD-1472 – Human Factors Engineering
  • MIL-S-901D – Shock Testing for Shipboard Equipment
  • MIL-DTL-31000 – Technical Data Packages

Marine Classifications & Offshore Standards

  • ABS (American Bureau of Shipping)
  • DNV (Det Norske Veritas)
  • Lloyd’s Register

Safety & Automation Standards

  • CSA Z434 – Industrial Robot Safety
  • CSA Z432 – Machine Safeguarding
  • IEC 61508 – Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • ISO 13849 – Safety of Machinery

We ensure that all designs meet the necessary certifications and compliance requirements based on the specific industry and application. Let us know your project requirements, and we’ll tailor our solutions accordingly.

Can you manufacture or deliver small-batch defense components?
Yes. We offer low-volume manufacturing for prototypes, spares, and mission-specific components, enabling faster deployment and reduced downtime.
What is your approach to protecting sensitive project data?
We follow strict data security protocols and handle projects under confidentiality agreements. Sensitive information is protected through controlled access, secure digital infrastructure, and compliance with client requirements.
